Method
 

Directions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and gently fold together.
  4. Fold in the diced apples into the batter.
  5. Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it with vegetable oil.
  6. Spoon the batter onto the preheated waffle iron and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
  7. Carefully remove the cooked waffles from the iron.
  8. Using a donut cutter or cookie cutter, cut out donut shapes from each waffle.
  9. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Fry the donut-shaped waffles for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  11. In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to prepare the glaze.
  12. Dip the tops of the donuts into the glaze and allow excess to drip off.
