- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and gently fold together.
- Fold in the diced apples into the batter.
- Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it with vegetable oil.
- Spoon the batter onto the preheated waffle iron and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
- Carefully remove the cooked waffles from the iron.
- Using a donut cutter or cookie cutter, cut out donut shapes from each waffle.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the donut-shaped waffles for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to prepare the glaze.
- Dip the tops of the donuts into the glaze and allow excess to drip off.
