Ingredients
  

For the Tea Base
  • 4 cups water cold for cooling the tea quickly
  • 2 bags green tea bags or use loose leaf green tea
For the Lychee Mixture
  • 1 can lychees in syrup fresh lychees can be used too
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup/agave for vegan option
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice adjust to taste
For Serving
  • ice ice or frozen lychees to keep drink chilled
  • fresh mint optional garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 4 cups of water and honey over medium heat. Stir until honey dissolves completely, then bring to a gentle boil for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and add green tea bags or loose leaf tea. Allow to steep for 3 minutes, then discard tea bags or strain the loose leaves.
  3. Pour in an additional 4 cups of cold water and let stand uncovered for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Blend the lychees in syrup, along with the lemon and lime juice, until smooth.
  5. Combine cooled tea with the lychee puree in a large pitcher and stir gently.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint and slices of lemon and lime.
