Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare Pandan Juice: Wash 10 pandan leaves thoroughly, chop them into smaller pieces, and blend with 1 cup of water until smooth. Strain to extract pandan juice.
  2. Soak Rice: Rinse 2 cups of glutinous rice until water runs clear. Soak in pandan juice for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  3. Steaming Prep: Set up your steamer with a pot of simmering water and line it with parchment paper.
  4. Steam Rice: Drain rice, spread in the steaming basket, and steam for about 40 minutes, checking for doneness.
  5. Make Coconut Sauce: Heat 1 cup of coconut milk, add 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and a pinch of salt, stir until sugar dissolves.
  6. Combine: Pour warm coconut sauce over steamed rice, and mix gently. Let absorb for about 10 minutes.
  7. Prepare Topping: Toast 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds until golden, mix with a little sugar and salt, and sprinkle over the rice.
