Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Beat until pale and fluffy.
  4. Gradually sift the all-purpose flour and salt into the mixture. Gently fold until just combined.
  5. Transfer the cookie dough into your cookie press fitted with a decorative disc.
  6. On an ungreased cookie sheet, press out the dough, spacing cookies about 1 inch apart.
  7. Sprinkle with colorful sprinkles if desired before baking.
  8. Bake for about 7-9 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. If desired, drizzle with melted chocolate.
