Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, about 3-4 minutes. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until fluffy and smooth.
- Combine the brewed espresso and amaretto in a shallow bowl to create the soaking liquid.
- Dip the ladyfinger cookies quickly into the coffee mixture and arrange half in a single layer at the bottom of a 9x9 inch dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone layer over the soaked ladyfingers, followed by half of the cherry preserves, and then add fresh cherries.
- Repeat with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, cherry filling, and fresh cherries for the second layer.
- Cover the tiramisu and chill in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Dust the top with cocoa powder before serving. Garnish with fresh cherries or chocolate shavings.
- Slice into squares and serve chilled.
