Ingredients

For the Base

  • 1 cup Fresh Strained Lemon Juice Use large, juicy lemons for maximum flavor
  • ½ cup Granulated Sugar Adjust based on watermelon sweetness or substitute with honey
  • 5 cups Cubed Seedless Watermelon Use chilled watermelon for a more refreshing drink
To Serve
  • Ice Optional based on serving preferences
  • Fresh Mint Adds aromatic flavor and a beautiful garnish

Equipment

  • blender
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • large pitcher
  • Serving glasses

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by cutting your chilled, seedless watermelon into cubes, filling your blender about halfway. Blend the watermelon on high speed for about 30 seconds or until fully pureed.
  2. Place a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl and carefully pour the watermelon puree into it. Use the backside of a spoon to gently press down to extract as much juice as possible while leaving the pulp behind.
  3. In a large pitcher, whisk together cold water, freshly strained lemon juice, and granulated sugar. Stir continuously for about 2-3 minutes until the sugar completely dissolves.
  4. Pour the strained watermelon juice into the pitcher with the lemon-water mixture. Using a large spoon, gently stir everything together for about a minute.
  5. Prepare your serving glasses by filling them with ice cubes. Pour the vibrant Watermelon Lemonade over the ice, filling each glass generously.
  6. Take fresh mint leaves and gently slap them between your hands to release their aroma. Add a couple of sprigs to each glass as a delightful garnish.
