Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, crack open your eggs and whisk them together with milk, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and a pinch of salt. Continue whisking until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
- Place a non-stick griddle or skillet over medium heat and let it warm for about 3 minutes. Lightly grease the surface with a generous pat of butter or a splash of oil.
- Take thick slices of your chosen bread and dip each slice into the pumpkin custard mixture for about 15-20 seconds until both sides are thoroughly coated.
- Carefully place each soaked slice on the heated skillet, cooking for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side.
- Repeat the process for remaining bread slices, adding more butter or oil to the skillet as needed.
- Once all slices are cooked and beautifully golden, stack them on a plate. Serve warm with your choice of toppings.
