For the Milkshake
  • 2 tablespoons Chocolate Sauce Optional: use dark chocolate sauce for a richer flavor.

  • 2 scoops Hood® Golden Vanilla Ice Cream Substitution: any vanilla ice cream will work, or use a dairy-free alternative for a vegan version.
  • ½ cup Hood® 1% Lowfat Milk Substitution: any milk can be used—almond milk for dairy-free.
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract Note: for a stronger vanilla taste, increase the amount slightly.
For the Toppings
  • 2 tablespoons Hood® Instant Whipped Light Cream Substitution: homemade whipped cream can be used for a fresh flavor.

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Banana Split Milkshake
  1. Start by drizzling about 2 teaspoons of chocolate sauce into the bottom of each of two tall glasses. Tilt the glasses to create a beautiful chocolate swirl.
  2. In a blender, combine the sliced frozen bananas, 2 large scoops of Hood® Golden Vanilla Ice Cream, ½ cup of Hood® 1% Lowfat Milk, and 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract. Blend on high for 1 to 2 minutes until smooth.
  3. Carefully pour the Banana Split Milkshake evenly into the prepared glasses, filling each glass to about three-quarters full.
  4. Top each milkshake with 2 tablespoons of Hood® Instant Whipped Light Cream, followed by one maraschino cherry and half the chopped peanuts on each glass.
  5. Serve immediately with colorful straws while it’s frosty best.
