Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups Glutinous Rice Flour
  • 1 cup Hot Water Boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar Can substitute with agave syrup
Filling
  • 1 cup Red Bean Paste Can substitute with lotus or taro paste
Coating
  • 1 cup White Sesame Seeds Toasted sesame seeds can be used for extra flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Boil water in a small pot, mix in sugar until dissolved.
  2. In a bowl, add glutinous rice flour and pour in hot water mixture while stirring.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, then let it rest covered for 30 minutes.
  4. After resting, divide dough into portions, flatten, fill with red bean paste, and shape into balls.
  5. Moisten each ball with water and roll in sesame seeds to coat.
  6. Heat oil to 300°F and fry the balls until golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.
  7. Drain cooked balls on paper towels and let cool before serving.
