Preparation
  1. Start by measuring 2 cups of cooled, plain mashed potatoes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add 2 cups of mashed potatoes and 1 teaspoon of salt. Gradually mix in 1½ to 2 cups of flour.
  3. Once the dough is ready, turn it out onto a floured surface and shape it into a round about 1 inch thick.
  4. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and grease it with butter or oil. Cook the farls for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. After cooking, transfer the farls to a cooling rack and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
