Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by measuring 2 cups of cooled, plain mashed potatoes. Ensure they are well-mashed and free of lumps.
- In a mixing bowl, add the prepared mashed potatoes and sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of salt. Gradually incorporate 1½ to 2 cups of all-purpose flour.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface, shaping it into a round that is roughly 1 inch thick and cut it into four wedges.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or neutral oil. Cook each farl for about 3–4 minutes per side.
- Once cooked, remove the farls from the skillet and let them rest briefly before serving warm.

Notes
For best results, choose starchy potatoes and add flour gradually to prevent dry dough.
