For the Glaze
  • 1 cup Icing Sugar No substitutions
  • 2 tablespoons Orange Juice Freshly squeezed recommended
  • 1 tablespoon Cointreau Optional; can replace with another citrus liqueur or omit
  • to taste Ground Clove Optional, based on preference

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cream softened butter and honey until light and fluffy, then add molasses and mix.
  2. Gradually mix in flour, salt, spices, orange zest, and vanilla extract to form a soft dough.
  3. Shape the dough into a log or use cookie stamps. Wrap in plastic and chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Slice dough into ½ inch thick pieces and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden around edges. Allow to cool.
  6. Mix icing sugar, orange juice, and Cointreau for glaze. Drizzle over cooled cookies and let set.
