Equipment

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together bread flour, salt, and active dry yeast. Add lukewarm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours until bubbly and doubled in size.
  3. Preheat your oven to 450°F and place your Dutch Oven inside to heat up for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Lightly flour your hands and surface, turn out the dough, and shape it into a ball by folding the edges toward the center.
  5. Transfer the shaped dough onto parchment paper, cover it with a towel, and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the preheated Dutch Oven from the oven, lift the dough with parchment paper, and set it inside the pot. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. After 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
  8. Transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
