  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar can use maple syrup or date syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Salt sea salt is preferred for best taste
For the Onions
  • 1 large Red Onion or 2 medium onions, sliced thin

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Step 1: Slice the Onions - Peel and slice the red onions thinly, aiming for 1/8-inch thickness.
  2. Step 2: Make the Brine - In a medium saucepan, combine equal parts water and white vinegar, then add sugar and salt. Heat and stir until dissolved.
  3. Step 3: Combine - Pour the warm brine over the sliced onions in jars, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  4. Step 4: Pickle - Let cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate. For best flavor, allow pickling for at least 1 hour or overnight.
