  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Provides moisture and deep caramel flavor; light or dark brown sugar can be used interchangeably.
  • 2/3 cup Granulated Sugar Contributes sweetness and helps with the cookie's lovely texture.
  • 1 number Egg Adds structure and moisture; substitute with 2 flax eggs for a vegan twist.

  • 8 oz Chocolate Chunks or Bars Choose dark, semi-sweet, or milk chocolate.

  2. Melt 3/4 cup of unsalted butter over medium-low heat until golden brown and nutty.
