- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If homemade, whisk egg whites until soft peaks form, gradually adding sugar until glossy. Fold in flour.
- Pour into an ungreased tube pan, and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Whisk together creamy pudding mix with cold milk until thickened. Set aside.
- In a trifle dish, layer angel food cake, half of the creamy pudding, cherry pie filling, and a dollop of whipped topping.
- Repeat layering with remaining ingredients, finishing with whipped topping.
- Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Slice and serve with extra whipped topping on each portion.
