  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or fresh minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley optional garnish

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • baking sheet
  • Wire Rack

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Slowly add warm water (around 110°F) and olive oil, stirring until a soft dough starts to form. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  2. Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, covering it with a clean kitchen towel. Allow it to rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  3. Once risen, gently punch down the dough to release the air. On a floured surface, shape it into a loaf. Place it onto a greased baking sheet, cover it again, and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and chopped parsley.
  5. Once the dough has completed its second rise, brush the prepared topping generously over the loaf. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top. Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes on a wire rack. Slice it while still warm.
