Method
 

  1. Begin by bringing 4 cups of fresh water to a rapid boil in a medium saucepan over high heat.
  2. Once boiling, add the Kashmiri green tea leaves and allow the mixture to boil for about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in a pinch of baking soda, continuing to boil for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Introduce the star anise, crushed cardamom pods, and a cinnamon stick to the pot, stirring to combine.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the tea simmer gently for 20 to 30 minutes.
  6. After simmering, carefully stir in a pinch of salt and then pour in the whole milk while stirring continuously.
  7. Strain the tea into cups using a fine sieve to remove the tea leaves and spices.
  8. Sweeten each cup with sugar or honey to taste and garnish with crushed nuts if desired.
