Ingredients

For the Beef
  • 1 kg Beef Sirloin/Tenderloin/Ribeye Choose quality cuts for tenderness and rich flavor; pork tenderloin or mixed seafood can be great substitutes.
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch Helps to marinate the beef, enhancing tenderness and allowing the sauce to cling better.
For Cooking
  • 2 tbsp Oil Use any neutral oil like canola or vegetable oil.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Thinly sliced; fry until golden.
  • 2 tbsp Butter Enhances richness; margarine can be used for dairy-free.
For the Sauce
  • 3 tbsp Oyster Sauce Provides umami and depth of flavor; soy sauce as a vegetarian alternative.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce Adds tanginess and seasoning; soy sauce for gluten-free.

Equipment

  • Wok or large skillet

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine diced beef with Worcestershire sauce, a pinch of pepper, and cornstarch. Mix thoroughly and set aside to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-low heat. Add thinly sliced garlic and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. Increase heat to high and add marinated beef in a single layer. Sear undisturbed for one minute, then stir and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Lower the heat slightly and return fried garlic to the pan. Add butter and oyster sauce, mixing gently until the beef is coated.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish, garnishing with fresh parsley or chives if desired. Serve with steamed rice.
