Step-by-Step Instructions for Pizza Grilled Cheese
  1. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, 1 clove of minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon of dried oregano. Mix well to create a flavorful infusion. Brush this mixture generously on one side of four slices of thick sliced bread.
  2. On the unbrushed side of each oiled slice, spread 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce. Stack 2 slices of provolone cheese, followed by 4 slices of pepperoni (optional), and then top with 2 slices of mozzarella cheese.
  3. Take the remaining four slices of bread and brush the oil mixture on the outer side. Place these slices on top of the assembled sandwiches, oiled side up.
  4. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes. Place the sandwiches in the skillet, grilling for approximately 5-6 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
