  • 3 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups blueberries fresh or frozen
For the Frosting
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Baking the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk.
  6. Gently fold in the blueberries.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.
Making the Frosting
  1. In a bowl, beat the butter until creamy.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until smooth.
  3. Add vanilla and milk; beat until fluffy and spreadable.
