Preparation Steps
- Begin by pouring filtered water into a medium saucepan and place it over high heat. Bring the water to a rolling boil, which should take about 5–7 minutes.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and add the cinnamon sticks, freshly sliced ginger, anise seeds, and freshly grated nutmeg. Stir gently to combine, then cover the saucepan with a lid. Allow to simmer for 1 to 1.5 hours.
- Taste for strength and flavor. If satisfactory, whisk in the granulated sugar while stirring, ensuring it dissolves fully.
- Carefully pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large heatproof pitcher or bowl to remove the spices.
- While the tea cools slightly, place a handful of chopped nuts into each cup for added texture and flavor.
- Pour the piping hot spiced tea over the nuts in each cup and serve immediately.

Notes
Simmering longer enhances flavor; use fresh ingredients for the best taste; adjust sweetness according to preference.
