Step-by-Step Instructions for Lemon Cookies
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with silicone mats or parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine ⅓ cup of granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon zest and mix until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: 3 ¼ cups of flour, ½ teaspoon of baking powder, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of salt.
  4. Cream together 1 cup of room-temperature unsalted butter, 1 ½ cups granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of lemon zest until light and fluffy.
