  • 2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder preferably Dutch-processed
  • 1/4 cup White Sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Corn Oil or vegetable oil/melted butter
  • 1 cup Milk or almond milk for dairy-free
For the Coating
  • 10 cookies Oreo Cookies or other chocolate sandwich cookies

Step-by-Step Instructions for Oreo Mochi
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, cornstarch, cocoa powder, white sugar, corn oil, and milk. Whisk until smooth and free of lumps.
  2. Pour the mixture through a fine sieve into a medium pot.
  3. Over low heat, stir the mixture continuously for about 10-15 minutes until it thickens and pulls away from the sides.
  4. Transfer the batter onto a cornstarch-lined surface to cool for about 5 minutes, then stretch and pull the dough until elastic.
  5. Divide the dough into tablespoon-sized pieces and roll them into smooth balls.
  6. Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs and roll each mochi ball in the crumbs until fully coated.
