Step-by-Step Instructions for Black Pepper Beef
  1. Begin by coarsely cracking 2 teaspoons of whole black peppercorns using a mortar and pestle or a rolling pin.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of Shaoxing wine, 1 teaspoon of soy sauce, and 1 teaspoon of toasted sesame oil.
  3. Cut 350 grams of beef tenderloin into bite-sized cubes and add them to the sauce.
  4. Preheat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes.
  5. Carefully add the marinated beef to the hot pan in a single layer, allowing it to sear without overcrowding.
