Ingredients

For the Casserole
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil Ideal for sautéing turkey and veggies; swap with avocado oil for a unique taste.
  • 1 pound Ground turkey A lean protein choice; ground chicken or beef can be used for variety.
  • 1 cup Diced onion Adds natural sweetness; choose yellow or white for the best flavor.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Fresh cloves enhance taste; always opt for fresh for a punchy flavor.
  • 2 medium Zucchini Full of moisture and nutritional goodness; yellow squash is a great substitute.
  • 2 cups Prepared groats (or brown rice, quinoa, etc.) Provides a hearty base; feel free to use cooked rice or quinoa instead.
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Diced tomatoes Contributes acidity and sweetness; keep the juices for a moist casserole.
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano Adds a herby note; Italian seasoning works seamlessly as a substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika Introduces a lovely smoky flavor; regular paprika can be used if needed.
  • ¼ cup Fresh basil (finely chopped) Brightens the dish with freshness; fresh is always best over dried.
  • 7 oz Kerrygold aged cheddar (shredded) Delivers a creamy, rich flavor; feel free to use your favorite cheese instead.
