Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by washing your potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. Cut them into one-inch pieces.
  2. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and water. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Heat about two tablespoons of neutral oil in a medium non-stick pan over medium heat for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the prepared potato pieces to the hot oil, frying for 5-6 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the potatoes and cover with a lid to trap steam.
  6. Remove the lid and let the liquid simmer uncovered for 3-5 minutes, stirring to coat the potatoes.
  7. Check the doneness with a fork; add a splash of water if needed, and cook until desired tenderness.
  8. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
