Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 12 pieces Jumbo Pasta Shells
For the Filling
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Italian Sausage Substitute with ground turkey or chicken if desired.
  • 15 ounces Ricotta Cheese Cottage cheese can be used for more protein.
  • 8 ounces Mozzarella Cheese Shredded.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated.
  • 1 large Egg Essential for binding.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 small Onion Finely chopped.
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning Can substitute with individual herbs.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
For the Sauce
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce Homemade or store-bought.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the jumbo pasta shells until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or sausage with garlic and onion until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess grease and let cool.
  3. Mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl with the cooled meat mixture.
  4. Stuff each shell with the meat and cheese mixture, and place seam-side up in a greased baking dish.
  5. Spread marinara sauce on the bottom of the baking dish, arrange the shells, cover with more sauce, and top with extra mozzarella.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C), cover with foil, and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Let the dish rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
