Equipment

  • Fine mesh strainer

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Begin by heating 2 cups of filtered water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring the water to a rolling boil, watching for small bubbles to form which takes about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Once the water is boiling, slice 1 medium ripe banana into thin rounds and carefully add them to the pot. Reduce the heat to low and let the banana simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. After the banana has simmered, stir in 2 tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers (or 2 chamomile tea bags) into the pot. Keep the heat low and allow the flavors to meld for another 5 minutes.
  4. Once the tea has steeped, remove the pot from the heat. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into two mugs, discarding the banana slices and chamomile flowers.
  5. Now that your tea is ready, add a spoonful of raw honey or your chosen sweetener, stirring gently to dissolve completely. Incorporate optional flavor enhancers like a splash of vanilla extract or a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
  6. Serve the Banana Chamomile Tea warm, embracing the soothing aroma before sipping. This comforting beverage is perfect for unwinding after a long day.
