Method
 

Instructions

  2. While the brine is heating, slice red onions thinly, aiming for about a quarter-inch thickness.
  3. Once the brine is ready, carefully pour the hot mixture over the sliced onions in a heatproof jar, ensuring they're fully submerged.
  4. Allow the jar to cool to room temperature for about 15 minutes, then cover and refrigerate.
  5. For best flavor, let the onions marinate for at least 1 hour, but ideally, 1-2 days.
