  • 1 cup Sour Cream optional

  • 4 cups Fritos Corn Chips or Doritos for a twist
  • 2 cups Mexican-Style Shredded Cheese can substitute with Monterey Jack or Cheddar
For the Toppings
  • 1/2 cup Green Onions chopped
  • 1 cup Guacamole for serving
  • 1 cup Salsa optional
  • 1/4 cup Jalapeños for serving on the side

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Taco Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease the baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef for 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart.
  3. Add finely chopped onion and sauté for an additional 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  4. Stir in taco seasoning and water; bring to a gentle boil for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat and add black beans and diced tomatoes, then stir in sour cream.
  6. Layer Fritos in the baking dish, sprinkle with cheese, add beef mixture, then top with remaining cheese.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes, remove foil for the last 5 minutes to brown the cheese.
  8. Let sit for 5 minutes, then garnish with Fritos and toppings of your choice.
