Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Tanghulu
  1. Wash chosen fruits thoroughly under cool running water and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  2. Pierce fruits onto bamboo skewers, leaving space at the bottom for easy handling. Aim for 3-4 pieces per skewer.
  3. Combine granulated sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat without stirring until sugar dissolves.
  4. Create an ice bath by filling a large bowl with cold water and ice cubes.
  5. When syrup reaches 300ºF, dip each fruit skewer into the syrup and swirl gently for an even coat.
  6. Allow excess syrup to drip off, then immerse in the ice bath to harden the coating.
  7. Once hardened, place skewers on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let cool completely before serving.
