Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Cook 6 slices of thick-cut bacon in a large skillet over medium-low heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and crumble.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté 1 chopped yellow onion in the bacon fat until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add 1 cup of chopped button mushrooms and cook for an additional 5 minutes, then stir in 2 cloves of minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Combine 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, crumbled bacon, 1 cup of milk, and 1 cup of shredded Monterey Jack cheese, mixing until creamy.
  6. Gently fold in 2 cans of cut green beans and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  8. Top the mixture with 1 cup of French fried onions.
  9. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  10. Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving.
